During the Chanel Pre-Fall 2010 Paris-Shanghai show in 2009, then creative director Karl Lagerfeld introduced a series of limited edition flap bags featuring dazzling sequin on exquisite black satin. Set against the multi-coloured Pudong skyline, the house displayed the finest work of their Parisian artisans through unparalleled craftsmanship.
The particular piece is adorned with an antique gold-toned chain, a nod to elements of Chinese art that inspired Lagerfeld for this collection.
The bag opens with an interlocking CC turning lock in the middle. The inside is made of black satined silk and offers three separate storage compartments, including the infamous slip pocket that Mademoiselle Chanel used to keep letters from her admirers in.
